The Interchurch Center’s Women’s History Month Celebration in Partnership with Positive Community Magazine





On Wednesday, March 8th, 2017, women gathered to hear firsthand and learn how organizations were making a difference in the lives of women and girls. The event took place at 475 Riverside Drive, New York, NY 10115 in the Sockman Lounge, 1st floor. The event began with a continental breakfast and was followed with a women’s expert panel moderated by President Paula Mayo. Organizations included: The Women’s Islamic initiative in Spirituality and Equality(WISE), National Council of Jewish Women(NCJW), MergerWatch/Raising Women’s Voices, National Council of Women of the United States, SHE Wins! Inc., Salvation Army, and The United Methodist Women.

Rev. Dr. Durrah, who presented the invocation said, “To win the future, we must re commit ourselves to equipping young women of today with the knowledge, skills and equal access to reach for the promise of tomorrow insuring that our daughters and young sisters will have no limits on their dreams . . . no obstacles to their achievements . . . and no remaining ceilings to shatter.”

Finally, Rev. Dionne P. Boissière wrapped up the gathering with a bountiful benediction focused on the promises of the future.
